At the church "on Karyerna street," we had long been talking about planting a new church. We felt that we were running out of space, it was getting crowded, new ministers were growing in their calling — and the time had come to begin a new ministry. We discussed this with our pastor and the board of elders. There were many questions. We prayed a lot, searched for a location, and looked for someone willing to take on such responsibility.
But then came a time from the Lord when we had to make a choice — either to begin a new ministry or resist His will. That’s how "Skinia" (Tabernacle) church was born.
Speaking personally, I had different plans for my life. I understood the importance of planting a new church, but I was full of doubts. I hesitated. Sometimes I felt like I should step into this new ministry, and other times I thought it wasn’t for me. That’s when I decided to submit to the guidance of our pastor and the board. If they said to go — I would go; if they said to stay — I would stay.
At the final meeting with the brothers, the decision was made: to go. And I submitted to the Lord and to the brothers. After that, during a Sunday service, the church prayed for us, blessed us, and sent us out in peace.
My prayer to God was this: "If You do not go with us, then do not lead us out from this place. Without You — it makes no sense to start anything!"
Today, I can say with confidence — that prayer was heard.
